ABOUT

We represent growers,
not inventory.

House of Lotus is a Canadian platform connecting independent Indian coffee estates to cafés, roasters, and homes here — with the grower named on every bag.

WHY WE EXIST

India grows extraordinary coffee that almost no Canadian has tasted at its best. Most of it leaves the country as an unnamed commodity, blended into something else, credited to nobody.

The estates we work with are small — thirty to seventy hectares, family-run, often for three or four generations. They process their own cherry, they cup their own lots, and they have no route to a Canadian buyer. Meanwhile Canadian roasters looking for something genuinely new are told Indian coffee is a Robusta story. It isn't.

So we built the connection as a platform rather than a brand. Growers get a named profile and published lots. Canadian buyers get specs, samples, quotes, and recurring supply. We handle export documentation, freight, and customs, and we take a transparent margin on the landed price rather than buying low and reselling opaquely.

Everything on this site is designed around one test: can you trace the coffee in your cup back to the person who grew it? If the answer is no, we haven't done our job.

Four commitments

The grower is named

Every lot on this platform carries the estate, the family, the elevation, and the harvest window. Anonymous coffee is how value gets extracted from origin — so we don't sell it.

Published pricing, both ways

Buyers see landed CAD per kilogram before they enquire. Growers see what their lot sold for. Neither side has to guess what the other paid.

Specs over adjectives

Cupping score, moisture, screen size, defect count. We publish the numbers a roaster actually needs, not just tasting poetry.

India deserves the shelf

India is the world's seventh-largest coffee producer and is almost invisible in Canadian specialty. That gap is a market failure, not a quality problem.
